About

I’m Phoebe, I’m really happy you found me and I hope that I can serve you in some way and make your life even happier also. I am 36 and have been practising yoga since 2011 and I always say that yoga found me not the other way round. It showed up in a time in my life when I absolutely needed it the most (it has a habit of doing that) and I was on my knees and desperate. Yoga teaches me something new every single time I step onto my mat and I want to share the benefits and the happiness I get with other people as I know we can all benefit. I have always been “fit”, I danced as a child until the age of 15 and I was a gymnast too but don’t let that fool you into thinking i’m the most flexible person because i’m most certainly not. I just crave movement in my body and I find yoga gives me that fluidity in my body and my mind. I trained with Delight Yoga school in Amsterdam and am a trained fitness instructor too. I incorporate dance postures and movements through my yoga classes as I see yoga flows like a dance and I’m particular about alignment and feet positioning. My love for music runs through my classes and you’ll often hear a variety of styles from an Indian drumming to latin beats, afro sounds, classical ballet and belly dancing. Aside from dance and yoga I have been a runner as well and also love the power and energy I get from the gym which is why I also teach HIIT classes and Sculpt Yoga too. The combination of different styles of movement works really well for the human body. The physical strength, the mind power for stamina and that “keep going” attitude all compliment my yoga practise. Yoga is more than just fitness though, in fact I don’t see it as fitness at all. It’s more of a moving meditation and it’s here where I learn to let the ego take a backseat and for me to be in total control of my breathe and my movements. Each posture in yoga is designed for specific health benefits in the body and mind, the power is incredible if you pay attention and surrender into the practise. Yoga is inclusive, yoga doesn’t discriminate, all it asks is for you to show up in the body you’re in and practice where you are today. Every day is different on the mat so be patient with your beautiful self, stay, go through the evolving process and learn from each other. Yoga simply means union and union is togetherness so let’s dance together. Teachers teaching students and students teaching teachers. We are all in this together and I can guarantee I’ll learn something new from you if you come to a class. I look forward to meeting you.
